Research- ROUGH IDEAS

  •  During today's research i have established what i want to do for the project.

  • ·       Creating voxel medieval world environment In blender software. I have decided to go with voxel style due to it’s simplistic nature meaning that I don’t have to worry about modelling as I would have to with other shapes i.e. cylinder.
  • ·       An idea was to have the character reach the prize at the end of the animation i.e. sword.
  • ·       Another idea I had for this project was to create an animation cycle meaning that the video starts and ends in the same way. Ultimately, going against the typical model of a movie.
  • ·       Another idea for the main character that I was thinking at some point was to have a main character a slime I was thinking of implementing this due to the animation aspect of the slime as it would be easier to do. However after some research as well I decided to stick with a human main character.
  • ·       I have decided that the prize that the character would reach at the end of the animation would be showed briefly in order not spoil it. Meaning that the audience knows that the character is looking for something however they don’t know for what.
  • ·       After some research the style of the work might be in the voxel/low poly.
  • ·       Another idea could be that he might never find it again but find something more valuable to him in the end. Like love, relationship etc. This could be useful as it could teach the target audience the moral that it is not worth it to be materialistic and sometimes you can achieve happiness without looking for it.
  • ·       Another idea could be that the animation would start in the morning and end in the night around a fireplace.
  • ·       Also, because main protagonist would not say anything throughout the animation I was thinking that when he spends the night around the fireplace he finally says a word. Showing that he opened up and maybe feels better about himself.
  • ·       Name of the project potentially- Comrade?
