After tutorial

Today after the tutorial with Steve i have decided to further develop my ideas in order to create more deep story/animation.  As i have decided to start writing the treatment for the story.  TREATMENT Title- Comrades Set up the main characters . Dmitri- Main character, protagonist in the story. In the beginning of the story we can see Dmitri waking up and minding his own business until he notices that his necklace is gone. Throughout the piece the character will develop as Mitya- Dmitri’s long forgotten- brother. Investigator at the police station. We can see Mitya only during the epilogue of the movie when Dmitri comes in to report in the theft. When it comes to the development of the character the audience will first see him agitated/angry running out of his office. Whereas later on, he will grab Dmitri and tell him that he has taken the necklace.         Explore the acts Act 1- Dream Here the viewer will see the dream at the b...

Home inside

Today i have focused on building the scenery for the house meaning i have researched what the Russian house interior usually looks like. Based on that i have decided to include a carpet on the wall as well as there are matryoshkas around the house.

Police Station

Today, i have been building the police station on the outside within one of the segments of the animations it was important to me to make it as authentic as possible. In order to achieve that i have researched that in Russia police officers have a colour scheme of black and red hence the police station has following colours. Furthermore, i didn't want to make it fully serious but wanted to keep some of the childish vibe to it thus including the blue cop cars.

Planning

When it comes to the planning phase and carrying it all out i have decided to split the animation into 4 parts : Dream, House, Outside and Police Station. I have done that in order to reduce the blender rendering time as well as to make sure i have control over every process along the way this allows me to then stitch everything up later in Premiere Pro and add in text and sound additionally. Furthermore, within each section i have divided it into sub sections. For example, Police Station has  Walking in,  Walk,  Stand up and talk to Dmitri,  Give him the necklace,  shot of poster  Walking out This allows for a easy and see through workflow as I personally like when stuff is organised into bullet points. Furthermore, another stage is planning is making sure that I leave myself out enough time to render out each scene and put it together in Premiere Pro to finish by deadline.

Plan of Action

Today, i have came up with a plan of action of how to put the animations together. Where i have divided the animation into 4 parts. I have decided to do it this way because it would be easier to render out in Blender and after that i would put the whole thing together in Premiere Pro where i would include transitions and additional text if needed this would allow me to make quick adjustments whereas the foundations would be done already. 1st part- DREAM 2nd part- Interior of main character house 3rd part- Outside/Run 4th part- Police station.

Main character

Today i have been working on creating the main character using the MagicaVoxel which is a voxel based software that is relatively easy to use. By the end of the day i have created a character with various different positions to interpret for animations.

Outside

Today, I have been working on building the outside environment as you can see below. To do this I used a mix of pre made assets with the one I  have made myself. For example some of the houses I have found on SketchFab which are replicas of building in Russia itself. Giving more authentic feeling.
